The Chase is a 4 player game and was designed to be played along with a performance. This was showcased in the Building Virtual Worlds Festival at the Entertainment Technology Center in Carnegie Mellon University in the year 2012. Basically 2 cop cars and a helicopter have to work together and chase down and knock out a museum thief before she escapes the city. The setup consists of 5 networked PCs: one for the server and the rest for respective vehicles. The cars are controlled using steering wheel joysticks, the motor bike is controlled using a wii mote attached to a motorbike handle designed for the wii mote. The helicopter is controlled using a flight stick. The use of joysticks enabled a game of large scale and medium complexity to be approachable by naive guests and gamers alike. This project was built from scratch in a duration of 3 weeks.
